Mr. Veenema has experience in a range of commercial litigation matters, including intellectual property litigation and employment disputes, as well as shareholder and creditors’ rights issues. In connection with his intellectual property practice, Mr. Veenema has represented clients in inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board, and has advised clients on their use and protection of copyrighted content.
Mr. Veenema has also contributed to the successful resolution of a dispute over an executive’s entitlement to promised compensation, and has helped resolve matters involving claims of unfair competition and alleged breaches of covenants not to compete. He represents both companies and individuals in the defense and prosecution of complex contract disputes, and has defended and assisted in asserting creditor and/or shareholder claims against corporations and their boards.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Veenema worked for Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. in Danvers, Massachusetts, where he negotiated agreements with publishers and assisted in the development of a variety of copyright licensing services.
